Master dressage trainer and son of legendary Nuno Oliveira, Joao Oliveira lost his battle with lung cancer and passed away in his sleep on May 7, 2007. We had the privilege to work with Joao for the last three years and we mourn the loss of our dear friend and partner. To all those who love horses, the loss of Joao is immeasurable.
His talent and his innate understanding made the average horse good and the good horse outstanding. It was a joy seeing our young Lusitano stallions performing piaffe and passage with lightness and ease under his direction. To ride a horse that Joao trained was an amazing experience never to be forgotten. Joao Oliveira was a true equine artist and we will miss him tremendously.
